Principal's Message

On behalf of the staff at Cherrylee School, I am happy to welcome you to the new school year! 
 
It is our privilege to provide an exemplary educational experience for your child and to ensure that all students achieve at high levels of academic proficiency.  The entire staff at Cherrylee School is committed to academic excellence and social-emotional well being.   
                                                                                                           
Cherrylee is filled with spirited and curious students who are empowered through academic discussion, collaborative team work and critical thinking.  The dedicated teachers engage students in the learning process and inspire students to do the impossible. We believe that children learn best when students, parents, and teachers work in partnership to meet each child’s unique needs. With this being our fourth year implementing The Leader in Me, which are timeless principles based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, our students have done a wonderful job blossoming into leaders!
 
I feel very fortunate and pleased to be principal of such an outstanding school.  I am looking forward to working in partnership with each of you during the school year.  I welcome the exchange of ideas between school staff, teachers, parents and community members.

LA County and OptumServe have added three more testing dates to the Jeff Seymour Family Center: January 25th, 26th, and 28th. Testing is available by APPOINTMENT ONLY! Six EMCSD Schools Recognized as 2019-2020 Honor Roll Schools

The El Monte City School District had six of its schools officially named to the Educational Results Partnership 2019-2020 Honor Roll. The Honor Roll recognizes public elementary, middle and high schools that demonstrate high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps. Meal Distribution Schedule Change for Week of 1/18

Free Internet Safety Workshops

The Jeff Seymour Family Center will be hosting a virtual 2-part series that will focus on internet safety. The workshops will discuss the dangers of the internet and steps you can take to make technology safer for kids. The workshop dates are January 12th and 19th at 5pm.
