The Jeff Seymour Family Center held a dumpling making class this week in celebration of Lunar New Year. The class was hosted by Rio Vista 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Wei-Dumitrescu. You can find the ingredients needed and follow her recipe by clicking the headline!

In observance of Lincoln's Birthday and President's Day, the District will be closed on Monday, 2/8 and Monday, 2/15. This means our meal distribution will also be closed on those Mondays. Superintendent Garcia provides an update to the status of the District's Distance Learning plan. As of right now, EMCSD will remain in Distance Learning as it reconvenes it's Reopening Taskforce to discuss possible reopening scenarios and timelines. LA County and OptumServe have added three more testing dates to the Jeff Seymour Family Center: January 25th, 26th, and 28th. Testing is available by APPOINTMENT ONLY! The El Monte City School District had six of its schools officially named to the Educational Results Partnership 2019-2020 Honor Roll. The Honor Roll recognizes public elementary, middle and high schools that demonstrate high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps. The El Monte City School District has adjusted their operational procedures at all District sites under the recommendation from Dr. Barbara Ferrer and the LA County Department of Public Health. The Jeff Seymour Family Center will be hosting a virtual 2-part series that will focus on internet safety. The workshops will discuss the dangers of the internet and steps you can take to make technology safer for kids. The workshop dates are January 12th and 19th at 5pm.
